MINAT Distributes Hygiene Materials to Keep Yaounde Neat

The Minister of Territorial Administration (MINAT), Atanga Nji Paul, officially handed over sanitation equipment to municipal authorities in Yaounde for onward distribution to the city’s seven sub-divisional councils. The symbolic handover, was on January 23, 2026 at the Yaounde City Council, received by the Mayor of the Yaounde City Council, Luc Messi Atangana, and the President of the United Councils and Cities of Cameroon (UCCC), Augustin Tamba.

The consignment comprises 700 wheelbarrows, 700 brooms, 700 rakes and 700 trowels, intended to reinforce local clean-up operations across the capital.

Speaking at the event, the MINAT boss underscored that urban cleanliness is a shared duty, stressing that while a clean city reflects collective pride, neglecting sanitation brings shared discredit. He therefore urged administrative authorities to work closely with municipal councils to strengthen sanitation efforts throughout Yaounde. Present to accompany the Minister was the Centre Region Governor, Naseri Paul Bea, Mfoundi S.D.O Emmanuel Mariel Djikdent and other administrative authorities.
