Wum municipality: At administrative and management account session, mayor calls for total collaboration in revenue collection
The mayor of wum Council Dighambong Anthony Mvo has called on the population of his municipality to assist the council in revenue collection. He was speaking today 26th March 2025 at the new wum Town Hall while presiding over the administrative and management account session. He also emphasised that the council staff cannot effectively collect revenue if we don’t assist. It was noticed that there was a drop in revenue except a few budget heads that had more than 50%. According to the reports, total revenue amounted to 724, 542,686frs as against a budgeted amount of 1,000,279frs, giving a realisation rate of 72.44% in relative terms. Meanwhile, overall actual expenditure stood at 534,272,243frs against a budgeted amount of 1,000,249,279frs giving a percentage realisation of 53.41%.
Investment revenue was 494,367,799frs and investment expenditure was 323,976,991frs,this being 44.71% of the total revenue. Recurrent revenue was 225,074,887frs and the current expenditure was 210,295,254frs,this being 29.02% of total revenue. Therefore a balance of 190,270,441frs was to be carried forward. Staff cost 82,717,719frs,being, 20.35% of the budgeted operational expenses, observed to be within the required maximum of 35%. From the above statistics, every stakeholder of wum municipality is expected to assist the council realise her goals. There were motions that were read and adopted by the councillors. The session was attended by the administration of menchum, traditional rulers, forces of laws and order, elite, politicians, council staff, councillors kand socio economic operators.
