Death Plucks Journalist Beng Humprey at 28

The death has been announced of Beng Humphrey Fang, Cameroon Journalist who worked for The Voice Newspaper. The announcement on September 2nd, 2024 was done across several social platforms and organizations where the deceased was reputed. A statement from the Menchum Journalist Union where Humphrey served as Vice Secretary General said “Humphrey slumped in the early hours of Monday September 2. He was rushed to a Yaounde hospital from where he was medically confirmed dead. His brutal departure remains a great loss not only to the media family but the nation as a whole” Earlier upon the announcement of his death, family sources said Humphrey was discovered stiff and motionless on the early hours of Monday and was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.The media family could hardly come to terms with what many described as a shocking news. Humphrey’s passing away overwhelmed the public who expressed eulogies across social media networks. Journalists of Integrity, The Menchum Journalist Union, The Menchum Youth Union, the Cameroon Association of English Speaking Journalists, Cam 10 TV among others, all spoke in mournful terms about the passing into eternity of a humble and gentle young man who was yet to be celebrated for his professional glories.

Humphrey who died at age 28, was known for his linguistic prowess and language stamina which he expressed both informally and in his journalistic works. “The gap is huge!.We are all hearts with his biological family, the press family and our readership in its entirety” reads a statement from The Voice, concerning the demise. An autopsy to uncover the cause of his death was immediately initiated.

His remains lie at the Biyemassi Hospital Mortuary pending burial arrangements.
