Elites Mobilise Against Wars on Several Wars Hitting Esu

The kidnap of students and two administrators at GTHS Esu, on December 12th, the disfiguring of a man by a gorilla on November 16th, the killing of the Fon of Munkep on January 12th, the killing of the paramount Fon of Esu on March 9th 2022 and sporadic cattle/grazier conflicts amongst others are problems that have hit Esu in recent times.

The most recent is the December 12th 2023 attack where assailants got students naked, kidnapped persons, set fire on Government Technical High School (GTHS) ESU and a closed classes. Students who sustained injury are being treated in a hospital.

The spate of atrocities has made many to consider joining their force as one in order to conquer issues plaguing Esu.

People are raising voices that, vigilante groups be formed, to face aggressors. One of them is Baba Sule, born in Esu and member of MBOSCUDA Esu.
“Esu needs to have vigilante groups that are suppose to guard the village against any intruder and enemy”

Divine Bin Buh, youth and elite of Esu thinks that collaboration is required to face the battle. “We the sons and daughters of Esu be it in the diaspora or in Cameroon should work as one to dig out this jigger for the progress of our village. Let’s be decisive about whosoever is inflicting pains in us and see how we can kick this away. We should work with the military because the military is also after General lion”

This opinion is shared by Dr Kedze Dennis, senior citizen and former University instructor. He says “What has happened in Esu today should prick the conscience of every son and daughter of Esu in and out of the Fondom. What happened to our children was very humiliating and traumatizing. The event of today, calls for a sense of unity and a collective and deep reflection on the future of our Fondom. For how can we allow morons to freely move into Esu, molest our people and return to their base without an appropriate response from us?”

The Senior Divisional Officer of Menchum, Abdoullahi Aliou, also reiterates that unity is imperative to defend the population. In a communique issued December 12th, concerning the assault on GTHS Esu, he writes “The Senior Divisional Officer for Menchum calls on the law-abiding and peace-loving population of ESU in particular and Menchum Division in general to remain calm, to continue to collaborate with the Administration, Defence and Security Forces in order to enhance the peace which they were already enjoying”
