The Catholic University of Cameroon (CATUC) Bamenda, on Friday 15th December 2023, graduated its 7th Batch of Students with a call on the over 250 graduates to be steadfast to achieving their various goals.
The call was made by the Chancellor of CATUC Bamenda, His Grace Andrew Fuanya Nkea, while presiding at the graduation ceremony. It began with a pontifical Holy Mass at St. Joseph Metropolitan Cathedral Big Mankon with the University’s Chancellor as main celebrant , alongside thirty priests concelebrating.
Addressing graduands during Mass, shortly before conferring academic certificates, the Chancellor said when one graduates with an academic degree, the degree makes sense only if the graduate is humble because humility is the best mark of a true academician. He challenged the academicians of Bachelor Degree, Masters Degree, PhD HND and Doctors of Medicine to work harder because the world of knowledge will likely expose them of what they don’t yet know. He added that they must not stay on spot with their Certificate but to hope and aggressively struggle for themselves. The Chancellor reiterated that he is confident in the students which CATUC is sending out and encouraged them to impact the society by contributing positively in all they will be doing.
The 7th convocation in CATUC’s history took place under the theme “Research, integrity and punctuality” . The celebration of Holy Mass was followed by a session at the terrace of CATUC which featured a word of Welcome by the Vice Chancellor of the University Fr. Giles Ngwa Nforte, an Academic Discourse presented by Professor Suh of the University of Bamena and a valedictory address by Sonia Rita P.
