2M Realised for ECUDA Yaounde Multipurpose Hall Costing 100 M

Fund Raisers realised about two million francs during a fundraising ceremony for the construction of an ECUDA Multipurpose Hall in Yaounde.

Descendants of Esu who make up the Esu Cultural and Development Association (ECUDA) were joined by friends and well wishers to raise the sum of about two million francs cash for the construction of a Multipurpose hall in Yaounde. Though the funds realized during the fund raising ceremony was not officially disclosed, those who attended it estimated that the amount realized was two million francs or so.

It was contributed on December 16th 2023, at the plot in Nkolbisson – Yaounde, where the multipurpose hall would be built. The occasion was chaired by Meh Zang Augustine – Chairman of the Building Committee. Other officials present were the Public Relations Officer of the ECUDA care taker Committee – Rev Meh Chu Celestine, the president of ECUDA Yaounde zone – Wung Moses, the president of ECUDA Melen Branch – Kah Theodore, the president of ECUDA Essos branch – Kah Emmanuel and the president of ECUDA Mbankolo Branch Chu Godlove.

Also present were groups like the Esu Youth Cultural and Development Association, The Good Brothers Association, The Dynamic Loving Sisters and Faith Construction company who all voluntarily contributed to realize the total sum.

According to the Building Committee chairman, the construction begins right away and the peace of land would see a transformation in the months ahead.
“This place would be transformed in six months time. Give a ton of cement if you can. Give a bag of cement if you can. Let’s show the world that we can do things” were the words of Mr Meh Zang, as he chaired the ceremony.

While encouraging the population to support the project, the Yaounde Zonal President of ECUDA, Mr Wung Moses, said it is a giant project that would serve the entire community and not just Yaounde or the people of Esu thus he called on sons and daughters of Esu both at home and in the diaspora to support.

The entire project to construct the multipurpose hall shall take one hundred million francs. The facilities to be constructed include a hall, apartments, studios, car parks and a terrace hosted by a storey building.

At the end of the ceremony, the officials thanked givers for their generosity, calling on them to prioritize the project.
The occasion was sandwiched with the singing of cultural songs, cultural dance and a dinner of traditional Esu cuisine.
