The 2023/2024 academic year has been launched in Menchum division today Saturday 16th September 2023 at the Wum town hall, under the auspices of the SDO for Menchum, Mr Abdoullahi Aliou. The theme of this year is “Digitalisation and classroom practices for the modernisation of teaching and learning” . Mr Hamza Umaru, First Deputy Mayor, of Wum Council, in his welcome speech thanked all the education stakeholders for their resilience throughout the last academic year . He enumerated some of the projects the Wum council is carrying out to support education. The Divisional Delegate for secondary education Mr Amana Simon thanked all principals and teachers who were effective during the 2022/2023 school year. He explained that the results of last year were better than that of the previous years due to the efforts of teachers and school administrators . He pleaded on all parents and community leaders to see that the children of Menchum come back home to have the sound and quality education they deserve.
The SDO for Menchum Division, Mr Abdoullahi Aliou thanked the education family of Menchum for a great job last academic year. He called on all absentee teachers to come back home because disciplinary sanctions await them. including community leaders, forces of law and order, parents, councils and the regional assembly of the North West Region, for total and frank collaboration.
