The government of Cameroon has announced price increase of some hydrocarbon products. The announcement was made to representatives of some trade unions January 31st 2023, at the conference room of the Hydrocarbon Prices Stabilization Fund HPSF.
Petrol price will go up from 630 FCFA to 730 FCFA francs per liter.
Diesel will increase from 545FCFA to 720 FCFA a liter.
These new changes in prices shall take effect from February 1st 2023.
However, the price of a liter of kerosene remains at 350 CFAF.
Similarly, the price of 12.5kg of domestic gas is maintained at 6,500CFAF.
At the meeting it was announced that government will continue to subsidise petroleum products.
Stakeholders at the meeting appealed that government seeks ways to increase the purchasing power of consumers as well take measures to check issues that could spring from the price increase.
