Picture: metal case of pork fries, other items blown up
Two persons sustained injuries following an explosion around T-junction Bamenda. The incident also caused property damage. Inhabitants of the city are regaining calm from Tuesday 19, 2021 explosion.
The two injured include a lady and her daughter. They were rushed to a medical facility thanks to the prompt response of a cab driver. The said lady is a trader in animal feed. Her goods were also damaged, an eye witness told Cameroon Infotrend.
“We only heard a loud sound and everyone started running away. I have recorded losses but we thank God for life because these things are worldly. From now, we shall always ensure that we are vigilant by checking places around” said a vendor in fast food who identified himself as Paul.

Other vendors around the scene of explosion also named items lost. A bar tender said his drinks crashed with the bottles breaking, the wall of his shop was also punctured in the course.
A manicurist listed the breaking of her mirror and nail polish.
The scene of the damage attracted people including law enforcement officers.
“The explosion was well calculated and planted. It was caused by improvised explosive devises because we could identify a telephone, nails and other iron objects which indicate that it was an intentional act” A Gendermarie officer who opted to stay anonymous told Cameroon Infotrend as he pointed to a broken telephone and iron rodes at the site of the eruption.

The detonation erupted from a metal case used in making pork fries. The metal case would later be identified by its broken fragments.
Bamenda, capital of the Northwest Region Cameroon has recorded several cases of explosions in the wake of the Cameroon Anglophone Crisis.
